"Kirbyville's Got Talent"

Kirbyville School District is a partner in the First Place Character Initiative in Stone and Taney County. The character initiative includes the College of the Ozarks, all the schools in Stone and Taney Counties and many local businesses and individuals.

KES kicked off our character program today with an assembly called "Kirbyville's Got Talent." The premise was a talent competition featuring performers, judges and audience members that displayed examples and non-examples of our first two character words, "respect" and "responsibility." The skit was performed by KES faculty members. Subsequent quarterly character assemblies will be written and performed by groups of third grade students.

Character is visible in various places throughout the building including the cafeteria and lobby bulletin board. Classes will use the character words as a basis various projects throughout the year. KES students will soon have new character t-shirts featuring our theme, "Dreams come true when your character shines through." But, most importantly, throughout the year, character is visible in the words and actions of our students, faculty and staff.
