Summer School Perfect Attendance K-4
Students in grades K-4 who have perfect attendance in summer school will be invited to attend The Amazing Pets Show at the Grand Country Theatre. Students will enjoy the zany animal acts and comedy. In summer school, tardies and early pick-ups do not count against perfect attendance like they do during the school year. Come to summer school everyday and enjoy this special trip!

Summer School
Summer school starts on Monday, June 1. The hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. All grades will attend on the elementary campus. Breakfast and lunch are provided free for all students. 5th - 8th graders eat breakfast from 7:30-7:45, so it is critical they are on time. K-4 begins their day with a brief morning assembly. Grades 1-4 eat breakfast beginning at 7:50 and kindergarten students eat at 8:15.
Students in grades 1-8 have academic time in the morning and field trips in the afternoon most days. There are a few full day trips and some days with on campus special activities. A calendar of events has been published for grades 1-4 and for grades 5-8. For students in grades 1-8 a field trip fee of $30.00 is due on the first day of school.
Kindergarten students do not leave campus, except for students who earn the perfect attendance field trip. Details about this trip are TBA.
At dismissal time, buses are loaded and leave campus prior to parent pick-up. All parents should park in the east parking lot. Middle school students (5-8) will walk out to the east lot to meet their parents. Elementary students must be picked up in the cafeteria by a parent or other adult authorized by the parent. They will not be allowed to walk out to the car with an older sibling.
All changes in after school plans must reach the office by note or phone no later than 3:00 p.m. so that messages can be delivered to students prior to loading buses.

Simple Pleasures

Crawdads. It is hard to believe that these clawed creatures bring such pleasure, but the kids were having a grand time on Tuesday searching for the critters in all sizes and observing them in make-shift aquariums, along with minnows, snails and tadpoles. (Our creek time is a "catch and release" program and no actual wildlife was harmed in the making of this memory.)

Don't bug me...I'm going to summer school!

We have been having an awesome time at summer school! The KES students received their summer school t-shirts this week and they have been a hit. Kindergarten students can still purchase one for $5.00. The first through fourth graders' shirts were covered through their activity fee. Swimming is coming up tomorrow!
