School supplies...

Required school supplies are as follows:

Kindergarten through fifth grade students will need to pay $30 to their classroom teachers on Open House night, Monday, August 13. Cash (exact change) is preferred, but checks will be accepted. The teachers will obtain the supplies in bulk which saves parents money and ensures that all students have consistent supplies as needed.

Additionally, kindergarten students will need a red/blue vinyl nap mat. Please get the thin mat, not a thick one, as there is not room in the cubbies for these. For cleanliness, no cloth mats, cloth covers, rugs or blankets may be used.

The supply list for sixth through eighth grade students can be accessed at this link or should be available at local department and discount stores where supplies can typically be purchased.

All students who participate in P.E. will need clean gym shoes that can be left at school for use on the gym floor.

New student enrollment

Kirbyville School District will hold enrollment for students who are new to the Kirbyville District on Tuesday, August 7 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Students enrolling in preschool through eighth grade will enroll at the Kirbyville Elementary office located at 4278 E. State Hwy 76.

In order to enroll in kindergarten through eighth grade, parents must bring a current immunization record and proof of residency.  A current electric bill or a purchase or lease agreement is accepted as proof of residency. Students enrolling in kindergarten must turn 5 by August 1, 2012.  Students enrolling in first grade must turn 6 by August 1, 2012.  Please bring a birth certificate as proof of age eligibility for these two grades.

Kirbyville Preschool is a parent-pay program for three to five-year-olds that successfully prepares students for kindergarten.  Tuition is currently $13.00 per day.  Parents of preschoolers must bring a birth certificate and immunization records to complete the enrollment process. Students enrolling in preschool must turn three by August 1, 2012.  Out-of-district enrollment is accepted at the preschool on a space available basis, so area families, regardless of district of residency, are encouraged to enroll in Kirbyville Preschool.

For more information regarding enrollment please call 334-2757.  The office will open Wednesday, August 1.
