Thursday, May 21 was more than the last day of school for the year for our eighth graders, it was their final event as a Kirbyville student. Families, friends and others crowded into the middle school gym to watch these students culminate their Kirbyville years. Some students had been here 10 years, starting out in Kirbyville Preschool and others had been here just this year. Each student and his/her accomplishments, activities and future high school plans was introduced individually. The class' salutatorian was Melea Barron Hulland and the co-validictorians were Ryan Schultz and Mariah West. Several students were recognized for their achievements in the five core curricular areas and for citizenship. Retiring employees: Becky Parrett, Ann States and Jerry Parrett were also recognized for their dedicated service and accomplishments. The graduation speaker, selected by the class, was business math teacher, Scott Miller.
Congratulations and good luck to our graduates!
P.S. If anyone has digital photos from the event, I would love to add them to this post! Email them to me using the contact link in the right navigation bar.
