On behalf of the Kirbyville administrative team, I wanted to brief you on our emergency situation this morning. At approximately 8:30 a.m. prior to the warning being issued by the National Weather Service students, faculty, staff and parents were sheltered in each building according to our emergency procedures, based on our observation that threatening weather was approaching. Everyone in the buildings remained in the sheltered area until approximately 9:30 a.m. when all threat of weather danger had passed.
The preschool students remained inside the building through lunchtime as a precautionary measure in case severe weather redeveloped. They resumed normal activities.
Thank-you for respecting our need to keep the phone lines open in this emergency situation and keeping calls to the office to a minimum. We are dedicated to the safety of our students, faculty, staff and patrons and always make decisions with this in mind.
